I purchased this with the goal of reliving the 70s (along with college/HS Reunions) but with a more glamorous flair. Bingo. Mission Accomplished!. This jumpsuit is made of a substantial material that flatters the figure rather than showcasing the shame. I love that the style can be dressed up (jewelry/shoes) or dressed down (jacket/shoes) and that it is in a color other than black. Although most will probably wear this as a Holiday piece, I will be wearing this for years to come. The color can be worn all year long and the pockets and sash are such an added bonus. Although I am rather full chested, there was no side boob even when trying on without a bra. The fit is more true to size or perhaps runs a bit large because I've gained some weight recently and purchased this in my usual Limited size and would not feel bad about wearing it now although taking off a few pounds would make it more flattering. The only drawback at 5'4" I will have to have this hemmed but that's a small price to pay for such a gorgeous piece! Get this before it sells out--especially for some of us older ladies who will be the only ones who understand the title reference. :)
This sweater has to be one of my biggest disappointments. I so wanted to love this and hastily ordered when the Limited ran some special promos. I agree 100% with the first reviewer and can't understand why the head hole is so small? The problem lies with the material used for this sweater. I have been tremendously satisfied with sweaters purchased earlier this season, both cotton and other fabrics. It is just baggy, thin, unflattering and not worth purchasing. I will be returning this in store and trading for one of the new pieces or continuing with my long line of Ashton classics. This is one of my rare disappointments from my favorite store.
I have become such a big fan of the Ashton shirts, so I was almost a bit hesitant to try these since if it's not broken....but I'm glad I did. The fit is flattering and the style is very trendy. I purchased both the b/w checked and the red (looks burgundy)/ blue and I've received lots of compliments on the b/w. Since the weather is still warm, I wore with black capris and rolled up the sleeves which looked great and wore well. I like that the material is breathable (unlike the Ashton's on a hot day) and that it buttons all the way up which makes it great for layering. This shirt will be worn year around, which actually makes it a new favorite. I need to resist returning for the purple one. I think I'll wait until some other colors are introduced.
I would say that this top is not going to be for everyone because even though it is designed to be flattering, it shows any bumps or bulges. The top is made of substantial material which is why I gave the quality a high rating for the price point. I purchased in my normal Limited size, but the fit is more like some spandex undergarments which show flaws more than hiding them. Also, I thought the pink would be a bright pink, but it bordered more towards a dark pink (almost) a maroon. I gave it a recommendation because I think for one with a toned core, the top would be great. I also thought the neckline would be more fitted. It would be perfect if the body was less fitted and the neckline was more fitted like a mock turtle neck. I will be returning this top.
I purchased this in the navy after thinking about all of the wonderful navy print pieces in my wardrobe and thinking this would dress them up. This chiffon overlay on skirts has been a popular runway piece, but the shorter lining is best left for the younger set and does not seem very professional for many occasions which is why I chose the navy for the longer lining. I wish the polka dot one had a longer lining. I paired with a navy print Outback Red sleeveless top that was shown earlier in the season and has a beautiful abstract print that makes the skirt pop! This skirt can be paired with so many tops, especially the Ashton styles and colors. The fit was true to size (if not slightly large) because I've gained some weight (vanity sizing?). This is a nice wardrobe staple and can be dressed up or down and is not so trendy that it can't be around for a while.
I saw this top displayed in the store paired with a chambray mini skirt and purchased the M/L because I usually purchase my tops in a Large (36C) and thought the fit would be perfect. Unfortunately, the fit was more awkward than anything. It was loose fitting under the arms and despite my trying to adjust it, I could not get a fit that was satisfactory for me. it was just big all over! The print is beautiful and although the top looked great with a chambray bottom I will be returning this top. It is a rare disappointment for a store that seldom disappoints. Perhaps it will will work better for a smaller sized person who can afford a looser look without looking like she's expecting.
I love maxis and even after four previous maxi purchases this season, I could not pass this up. The print is beautiful. I love the various shades of blue coupled with the border accents in a wonderful color for summer sandals (wedges) which will help to give it a real bohemian vibe. The Limited has really outdone itself with their drapey knit fabrics this year because they help to flatter the figure and don't show the bumps and bulges that the thinner knits show. I also like the adjustable spaghetti straps which help to give the top portion of the dress a better fit. The little tassel tie also helps to further adjust the top fit which may be necessary for the full busted because I found the cut to be a bit low although the tassel can be adjusted to hang in front of any bulging boob. I gave it a 4 for fit because it is long (5'4") and I'll have to alter to wear with flats. I also paired with its matching convertible scarf belt as pictured in The Looks on the website. I hope that this tassel on the dress means that I've "graduated" from The Maxis for this season because I can't afford to buy any more!
I love that the Limited puts the grips on the inside of their strapless pieces for a more secure fit. I purchased this top after discovering that it has a matching print side split maxi skirt. Both of these pieces are made in the drapey knit fabric and spandex. This top can be worn with its matching print maxi making for a strapless dress look or it can be paired with denim or other bottoms. The navy print has a pop of yellow running through it so I intend to accent with my yellow boyfriend cardigan from The Limited. I like that the material washes well and holds its shape. Another fave piece from my favorite store!
I purchased this online after looking at the material--spandex is always a winner--and checking out the print. This is the same design as many Maxi skirts with the split on the side and the fit and feel is fabulous. It appears to run true to size, if not slightly larger, and I like that it can be pulled up for length adjustment. I paired it with the matching printed tube top and it makes it look almost like a strapless dress. With spandex in both pieces, it makes for a flattering fit. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a pop of color (yellow) also runs through the design. I love navy (my new black) and it was nice that the color was not just limited to navy/white since I also own the navy print maxi dress. All-in-all, this purchase was a pleasant surprise since it is an online exclusive and you can't preview it in the store. And, coupling this with an online promo and Virtual Dollars makes this a steal!
Sometimes it is hard to get a pure white top because many listed as white are often a cream, off white, etc. I purchased this after loving the sleeveless chambray top that came out earlier this year with a similar lace yoke on the shoulders. This one has a tie front design which I love to wear with denim, maxi skirts, city shorts, etc. it has like a raised Swiss dot feel and reminds me of a material that I had on dresses when younger. It is a perfect summer top and the open neckline makes it great to accessorize. I did wear a cami under it because it is a bit sheer and I don't like showing every aspect of my bra. I steamed it rather than using an iron because it seems as if it would flatten the Swiss dots. It's probably not necessary, but it works for me. The top can become wrinkly.
Yes, it is definitely light enough to wear in the Spring and it's soft material makes it easy to push up the sleeves. I love the long sleeves which can be easily rolled or pushed up if the weather is warm. I have similar jackets from other seasons and I do wear these in the Spring and the Fall as well as the Winter months. It can probably be worn on cool Summer Days as well.
I just reviewed this skirt and reviewed down because of its extra long length. I purchased this same style in a summer skirt and the length was much more accommodating for us vertically challenged girls. I think Limited should begin a new service called Limited Custom where we pay slightly more for the length of our choice. This could be done for any item that requires length. It would save the buyer time with alterations and the Limited would have happier customers--not to mention making a bit more money. It's a win win for everyone!
I wore mine with a classy black sheath and winter white blazer. Of course it was a classic look as the colors in the scarf matched perfectly and the soft material lent itself to being worn many ways including just hanging under the lapels. You can easily twist the scarf into a style where it looks almost like a twisted jewelry accessory around the neck. The possibilities are endless and it holds it's shape.
These pants are not thin and they are not lined which would make it bulkier in my opinion. As for fitting someone with a fuller bun, that was also a concern of mine, but the designer appeared to make allowance for this as I am a size L and I liked the fit.
